That issue is shipping already? Saxon, is the magazine version eligible for Credo's upgrade price to the current version (v3.9)? I don't have $500 handy to buy Life Forms Studio 3.9 (and if I did, I'd be saving it for Poser 5), but if you can upgrade from the mag version for $89, an enquiring mind would like to know.
It's the full copy of 3.5 as far as I can see and power moves, there's an upgrade offer to Life Forms 4 which is going to be out in April for 265 (multiply by 1.44 ish for dollars) so still quite expensive, but often you find that other offers superscede magazine ones. You've got time to think though, I'm in the UK and get Digit on subscription so it'll be a couple of weeks before it crosses the pond, by which time I might have learnt to like it! I've definitely got the Poser mind set! I've tried transferring some of the moves across in bvh format and they're not bad at all, couple of nodes are not compatable but all the important ones are. Hey, but, gift horses and all that!
I've heard people say they can get it in Barnes and Noble. It's curious but I've heard quite a few people knocking British magazines as ' too expensive', 'too web oriented', 'not sufficiently Poser' and others. Personally, I think Computer Arts, Digit, 3D World, CGI mag are fabulous and I owe them a lot for inspiration, information and some amazing freebies (including Poser 1 way back in the mists of time). They're bound to be more expensive when exported..... (I deleted the rest of the paragraph as it sounded a bit tit-for-tat, which isn't nice...)
You can possibly find it at Borders, also. And you can order individual issues from the Digit website.
Yes, an imported magazine is more expensive than domestic varieties, but considering how much you'd normally pay for this software, it's an incredible bargain.
