Subject: applying a texture map

I have a pig in .obj format. I created a texture map for it with UVMapper. I painted the texture with PaintShop Pro. The texture applies fine in Poser. Now I could just save the Poser file and the texture would come across too, but isn't there a way for me to apply the texture map to the object directly in Vue? When I asked to add a texture from a file and pointed to the right .jpg it applied it like a smear around a ball, not at all what I expected. Well, heck, here's a picture. What am I doing wrong?
