Ok, I'm putting this suit of armor for Lionheart up for beta testing. It's pretty rough around the edges, but I'd like to get as much feedback as possible. I broke the archive up into two parts, the Runtime stuff, cr2s, props, geometries etc., and the textures. Notes: First you need my Lionheart figure for this. As this is a beta, and between the armor and Lionheart, a fairly complicated package, if you want to try it, you should propably know you way around Poser fairly well, and probably be at leats a little familiar with Lionheart as well. Also, by the time you load Lionheart, the armor and props, your looking at over 50,000 polygons, and several textures and bump maps besides, so be aware of that. Known Issues: Thanks to Steve Daugherty for reporting these! First, i haven't finished making the thumbnails RSRs, and some of the labeling for the peices is probably wrong. Also, due to some last minute DOH! chages to the texture names, (and due to the fact I forgot that the preview material had texture references) you'll get a few error messages about missing textures. Just say no, and reassign them in Poser's material editor. You also need to assign the bump maps, I included them as JPGs rather than BUM because of space constraints, so they're not assigned yet. I'll fix the broken filenames and clarify the Bump map thing in a future release. I probably change the helmet from a Prop to a part of the figure, so you can change the whole armor with a MAT file. Speaking of which, I've included several MAT files, one to change the armor to pure white (for use with textures), one for the pictured blue-steel look, and one for a kind of enameled White with gold trim. These last two can be used without a texture. This is my first attempt with MAT files, I think they mostly work. The worst problem is with the right leg, it pokes through the armor. I think this is as much a problem with Lionheart himself as with the armor but anyway, to work around this: Load Lionheart, deselect all IK. Select Lionheart figure's BODY. Open the joint editor window, click on zero figure button. Then close the Joint Editor Window. Use the Memorize figure option, under the Edit menu. Resave the Lionheart Figure to the Library. Now load the Armor and repeat the above steps. Then use the Conform to item under the Figure Menu. It should work better now. Note that the lem-armoredLionheart file incorporates these changes to the armor and to Lionheart and should work fine (I hope). Ummm, think that's about it. Shoot, forgot to thank Theresa Willis (twillis) for hosting these files. I think I need to trade my ACME brain in for a new one! :( Anyway, thanks Theresa! Regards- Lemurtek

It's an interesting look, Lemurtek. Generally armour around here is so fantasy oriented that it's completely impractical; and here we have a fantasy character with armour that's completely practical. There's an irony there I find intruiging. :)

Here's a quick render from beta testing...

That is a lovely render, cyber-organic. I'll have to see how well it holds together when animated.

Lemurtek, it looks like 3-D Arena finally got its server problems taken care of.

I think I have the authorization problem fixed. I was trying to do something clever and I bozoed it all up. Please feel free to Instant Message me, or email me, if you have any problems accessing these files. No telling what I may bozo next. Nice render, btw, cyber-organic. Query: Do lions have Pride Crests instead of Family Crests?

Well, I wanted something that was somewhat authentic to the Richard the Lionhearted reference, but on the other hand I'm also doing this for fun, and Werelions do have a somewhat different body structure :), so I didn't get too worried about it. For one thing, while I did do a good bit of research on the subject, I never could find a good pic showing the hip area, and behind of a real suit of armor, so I just winged it. Yep, good news on that front, so now there's another mirror, in case anybody needs it, also good if you need Lionheart himself. And that is a cool render from cyber-Organic! Someday I'm going to quit messing with the internals of the characters, and actually make some pics! :) Thanks all for looking at the armor! Regards- Lemurtek
