Yes kiru, he died in February. He was in Bejing where he's just finished shooting a movie and he fell off a building or something (the reports were rather vague on that, saying it was around a six story fall but not giving details on what happened). He was supposed to be starting a role with Bruce Willis in "Boot Camp" within days...his big Hollywood break. Very sad to see a life cut short like that. Ares was always a favorite of mine on Xena, he did such a good job of being both evil and funny at the same time. Such a shame. This is a great character VS. Is it still available somewhere?

Here ya' be. I still use the Ultramorph dork myself along with a zillion more dorkmorphs from Traveler. Though I've acquired Mike & Mike 2, I still haven't used them for a whole lot. Soon, tho...Attached Link: http://onenews.nzoom.com/news_detail/0,1227,84230-1-7,00.html

Before Vicky, before Michael, in the shrouded mists of time, there was apparently something called Ultramorph Man, based on the P4Guy (I gather, knowing this place - he says with a grin - there was also an Ultramorph Woman as well), that Scoopey used to create this Ares character. The props on this thing are amazing: incredibly detailed (making it a bit of load-in) and textured. My only complaint was the skin texture on the figure itself, so last night I rebuilt it (after creating a mesh for the character in UVMapper -- I swear, I'm getting better with that damn program every day). The body texture needs some work, since UV dropped some of the mesh construct in the hip region, but still, this guy holds his own pretty darn well. Amatuer historian that I am, I guess the point here is -- we have all this great stuff floating around that sometimes gets lost in the shuffle. Maybe it doesn't look so great after all the wondorous advances we've seen of late in our characters, but getting these back up to snuff is usually a matter of rebuilding a texture or two, like repainting an old house that's been sitting derelict for a while. Just feeling philosophical today.....
