THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Exporting to OBJ et al??????

I've looked over the specs for Bryce 4 and it says I should be able to export an object in Bryce to a variety of formats. I have a Bryce 3 file that has a nice TNG phaser in it that I'd like to use elsewhere. With the file open in Bryce and the object is selected, I pulled down the file menu to select export. But for some reason it's always grayed out. I've rendered as per a tutorial I've seen and yet I still cant seem to export out the object. Am I missing something here? Dave

Dave go to the mesh edit box, then hit CRTL+D you will then be able to export in many different formats. Neal

Where do I find the mesh edit box? I've had some success with terrain objects, but not non-terrain objects. Evidently there is some trick I'm unaware of. Help is definitely needed here. Dave

Go to your Edit mesh dialog, it will be listed as an E next to the object. Once there hit CTRL+D you can export in several different formats. You can't export models made from primitives within Bryce, only the terrains. Neal
