Well I made it back to the festival BUT I missed the drumming and arrived in time for the Kendo demonstration. The Kendo demonstration was in a outside pavilion which existed far too much in the shadows for me to attempt anything worthwhile. Maybe better luck next week between the comic convention AND part two of the Cherry Blossom Festival. As a consolation prize for those who pay attention here is a remnat from last Saturday and a picture from the 1999 festival for Alpha. Bsteph

Cool Brian. Yeah! Get closer, I think you could get some wonderful dynamic shots...just be careful not to get accidently hit with one of those Kendo swords...they're made of bamboo aren't they? (Bet they'd still hurt though) ;-)>

Brian, I'm a little guy, so getting close used to be a little problem for me too - now, I've got it sussed - have your usual camera in your hand, carry a camera bag over your shoulder (even if it's empty - people assume it's full - fools!) and have an slr around your neck too - suddenly, when you ask people to let you through they stop seeing the person, see all this stuff and assume your pretty damn serious.....and let you through. I've had people clear prime spots for me in this way (albeit at small events). oh, and the bigger the lens on the SLR the better. Joe public seems to think size matters. (",)

The second one is neat, just before the helmet says ~kangggg~, and that yellow line in backgroud is nice detail. .n
