well it's not quite that bad actually.. just wondering if anyone has some tips on reducing disk usage or cleaning up unneeded files. Manual deletions really gettin me down. Also can anyone reccomend a (Free) paint package that'd be good to start off a few basic textures on? (found me a P4 template yeehawL) Thanx in advance Dolphy ------------------------------------------------------ ~ ~ ~ ~~ ~~ ~~SPLASH~~ ~~ ~~ ~ ~ ~

Well if you're running the Poser Pro Pack you can delete all .rsr files in the geometries folders.

Dolphin ( ) posted Wed, 17 April 2002 at 4:05 PM

Just the geom rsr's?... or the whole shebang?

JeffH ( ) posted Wed, 17 April 2002 at 4:07 PM

Well the library .rsr's too, but be careful about Poser.rsr I'm pretty sure you'll need that one.

JeffH ( ) posted Wed, 17 April 2002 at 4:09 PM

I should say that the library .rsr's should be left alone until all have been converted to .png by the PPP. I think this happens when you open a library section for viewing.

Attached Link: http://www.gimp.org/~tml/gimp/win32/

As far as a free image editor, GIMP is a very nice product, and is free. There is a Windows version available, but it crashes frequently for me (the linux version is much more stable, but Poser doesn't work well under linux :( The link above should get you there if you have windows.

I get POSE4 to only 96megs deleting geometries that i know i will not use.. like all the poser4 people, animals, and any other crap.. do not the poser4 clothes. and when i put PPP i do the same and have it down to like 170 with a very stripped down P4/PPP together

If you use WinNT/2000/XP you can activate the compression for the geometries and library folder. Poser dosn't complain and you save half the disk space.

"If you use WinNT/2000/XP you can activate the compression for the geometries and library folder. Poser dosn't complain and you save half the disk space." Oh boy! I'm going to have to read the manual to find out how to do that, but thank you!!!!
