THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Renders in the Gallery

Gentlepersons!

I've either become vain, or less intimidated for I have posted my first three renders to the Bryce gallery. I will defer to your wise judgement before I will call them "art".

Please, any comments or "constructive" criticism will be greatly appreciated. So, please click on the Nukeboy link above and let me know what you think.

Thanks,

NB

"Keeper of the Gate" - Great use of texturing your various stone work with vines and the like. It gives your render greater depth and reality. "Secrets in a Roman Garden" - I like the stained walls, I'm a believer in making things look used, rusty, ect. I like the bases for the wall torches, but...the actual flames could go a little higher. Not really a critique, just a druther of mine. "Muses Day Off" - Definitely my fave out of the three, and not `cause of the naked girls. The ceiling is amazing, and the architecture and textures are right on. Also, very good water. Keep it up! There is the link to your gallery. AgentSmith

I took a look to your renders. They are well done and the subject are interesting. Secrets in a roman garden is my preferred. The only "critique" that I feel to give is that maybe your images need more contrast, try to play more with light and shadow. Only my two cents!

p.s. the texture on the fountain in "Secrets in a roman garden" is really bronzeus, i like it!

when i use the link all i see is keeper, one image..i commented on it when i saw it before because it looks promising...but this is not the first time i can't see all the images in a member's gallery...hey AS...what gives with that????

I love all three of your renders. If these are your first images submitted then I truly can't wait to see your work as you progress in experience. You seem to have a real skill for ancient ruins/architecture and your modelling skills are superb. The only critique I have is in agreement with Vasquez, play a little with the contrast. Do you have Gamma Correction on or off? Your scenes would benefit greatly with a lot more depth of shadow (but they are absolutely brilliant as they are so take this as only a small critique). I really look forward to seeing more of your work. I love ancient architecture myself so have been very impressed by your efforts. Keep up the good work!

I can only see the one image also. I think the others must have nudity in them and I have that option turned off. BTW I do like the one image I can see.

Yes, if you can only see one picture you need to turn off the option to block nudity in your profile. (If that is what you want) AgentSmith

Hey there Nukeboy! Surely when you say you've posted your first 3 renders to the Bryce gallery it doesn't mean that those are your first 3 renders in Bryce? If they are then I may have to go raze my gallery, such as it is, and start over! Regardless, I would say your images are very good and you appear to be quite accomplished as a pixel-sculptor.

As I intimated, these are the first I felt comfortable posting... my first three renders in Bryce were the classic "Chrome Ball over Water"!

I did some interesting modeling with the Terrain Editor, though those pics still need focus and content. BTW, the torch bases are terains based on the floor tile from "Muses". I rather like them.

Thank you all for your comments.. and yes, the lighting has been a major pain in my butt. Esp. with "Muses Day Off" and "Keeper of the Gate". I've been practicing with portraiture to figure out lighting. If the dang renders didn't take so dang long, I'd have better images yet. Dang!

Thank you Agent Smith! Praise from you is both intimidating and wonderful. (I threw in the naked gals 'cuz I didn't think anyone would look at something without the "Nudity" button tagged.

Thanks again, everyone. Unfortunately, starting next week, I have to do my "real" job for 72+ hours a week. My next postings may be a bit away.
