Well I've finaly managed to get my image for this month challenge finished! It was a **lot harder than I thought! I was stumped trying to get procedural muck onto the texture maps but didn't want to paint it on manually (I'm lazy that way!) so I was going through the manual and found the bit about "underlying transparancy" So I made a blobbly mud texture and put the materials for the characters in the underlyling transparancy channel. It turned out better than I expected :) I was also wondering if we could use this feature to make more realistic translucent skin textures? Well I'm off to experiment! Alla**

underlying transparancy? You mean I have to read the manual? Been avoiding that ~G~ The picture is very good.

LOL YL :) you should have seen the states my grey arab used to get into - then after hours of grooming he would go out in the paddock and roll! I had to pull my manual out from under my bed where it has been mouldering since the second day I had Vue g Cheers Guitta :) Alla

Cool picture. Your armor metal texture remind me the one I built for the "Paladine" in my gallery. Your sky looks beautifull... How did you made the horse's armor textures ?

Hi Bop, The horses armor textures are the ones that came with the model, I just replaced the metalic parts with real gold/ chrome materials in Vue, and then dropped the whole to in the "underlying material" channel of the same material I used for the mud on the horse. It looks like my website is down at the moment, but if it is up tomorrow I'll upload the material (with Serge's texture replaced with a plain white one to protect his copyright) It will work with any texture - here's a test I did this morning using it on Evanna's wonderful Pony Inn.
