Hey guys, how do i set up a texture map so that it will not tile?

Can you be more clear please? Do you mean a procedural or a bitmap? On what kind of object do you want to apply a non tiled texture? If you apply, i.e. a bitmap on a plane, you just have to rescale it until it fits on your plane. But I'm ot sure that this is your problem. Post an image and we will tell you exactly:-) Guitta

Here is what I'm talking about. Both Vue and Bryce textures are set up in object space. I just want to turn off the tileing in Vue.

TRy scaling your bitmap in the material window to 1.00 If this is to small, try a highter valor. There is no other way in Vue to avoid tiling. But this works fine:-) Did you get it? If not, we will try until it works(if possible) :-)Guitta

lol, well i've tried that before i even posted. it just made the arch look distorted and i was hoping there was a easier solution than eyeballing the pattern to fit. but thanks for the help anyway.

1/ try other way to map in material editor (flat, faces, cylindrical,...) At the same time , adjust the scale 2/ Try UV mapper free software, if the object is a .obj Yves

For something like this, you'd want to have it UVmapped. Then with Object-Standard, scale of 1, the image should pop right into place. :)

thanks for all of your help guys. i just wish it was as easy as pushing a button in the material editor. you would think that by version 4.0 something like this would have been resolved.
