Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 03 8:59 am)
Yeah, you can do it, but fair warning.... its painful (at least from the methods I've seen). Apparently to get it to work you need to embed spheres at each joint in Poser, export the Poser fig as an obj, and use the spheres as points of control for animation. I haven't tried it yet, but check the tutorial links ---------------> Over here, and see what they say about it. If someone else has a great method to do it, I'd love to hear it. Falcon
Rumor has it (If indeed MetaCreatons holds onto Bryce) That the next upgrade of Bryce will allow Poser ..Posing within the program. I myself won't even atempt to try to get a Poser figure to animate in Bryce. You will lose all the bending properties. It will be like a posable doll, where seams and joints will not conform and or stay attached. e.g.: If you group the head and neck, then rotate it, the chest and shoulders will not move and the figure will look like it had it's head cut off and you put it on the body wrong. The above suggestion will work fine for robots and figures that don't stretch and made up of evident different body parts. James
The only other way I can think of would be to export your Poser animation as sequenced meshes, then import the mesh from frame 1, set up your scene, render the scene, then import each mesh, position it delete the previous mesh and render each scene. You would then have to use a vid program and make the animation. I tried it with a small animation. It works but takes a long time to set each scene up. Ed
I've been able to achieve fair results by animating a Bryce background, creating foreground elements either in Bryce, Poser or other 3d app and saving as an image with an alpha channel, and animating my Poser figure in Poser. I then integrate the different layers in Final Cut Pro. This way, you can have your Poser figure walk between layers of 3d elements created in other apps. It gives some true depth to an animation, but still doesn't allow a Poser figure to truly interact with its Bryce environment. -sk

I'm new at this, so maybe this isn't even the right question. Is there a way to animate Poser characters inside a Bryce animation ? -Kevin
