Subject: What is an "ace" file?

I D/L the Oksana in free stuff and that is what I got. So what is "ace" file, can it even be used in poser. Thanks. Tashar 59

an "ace" file is a compressed file not too unlike zip. I don't recall if winzip will uncompress or not though.

Thank-you. I never use winzip, windows opens everything I use. Have to dig up the disk I have it on. Thanks again. Tashar 59

gods no!!! ~pulling m6y hair out~ not another archiving program!!! already have three. oh, yeah, two of the three open ace files. ~g~ only winzip is limited to one archive format. rar and stuffit both open all known formats.

I have stuffit some where,prob the same disk. Does stuffit open rar too, I have some files I never bothered with becouse they were rar. Or if I need something different, where do I find it. Thanks Tashar 59

just get WinRar it open zip,rar,ace and all kind other compressed files. Winrar is all u need.

I agree with risopan, Winrar will open zip files and ace files(Winzip won't open ace files as they are winrar format). I think that Winrar has a higher compression than winrar as well. Or you could get Stuffit expander that will open sit files (Mac), Not sure of the compression ratio, though as I recall it is higher still.
