Things are starting to come together, I think. The trees do hell on my system, but I think they add a nice feeling to the picture. I have two main things I'm gonna change for my next post: First, I'm going to change the mountain texture. I definitely don't like what I've got, but it takes forever to render, so I'm gonna wait till next time for this... Second, if you'll notice, at the left of the screen there are no shadows, since no trees are there to cause the shadows. However, since I want to convey the idea of a forest right there, I'm going to need to add trees.. i hope it doesn't kill my system... Now, addressing comments from others: The flags really aren't stretched. That texture is long to begin with, and it fits the flags perfectly. They are twisted a bit, but I was aiming for a wind-blown effect. I think I failed slightly, but they still look pretty good. As for the size of the castle, well, I think it's just that the battlements are rather big, and the outer wall is close around the keep (that'll teach me to build the outer wall first). Once again, I don't care to go back to modelling this, so it will have to do. Thanks, and comments will be appreciated! Rosh

Instead of adding trees, why not use a lattice and just make some tree shapes to cas the shadows. Since they're not going to be on screen, just make a tree lattice and stick it in front of a light source to cast shadows. Hah! I beat Adam and Tempest both lol.

Talent is God's gift to you. Using it is your gift to God.

go int the terrain editor and make a bunch of randomly placed circles, then use the raise/lower to raise the spots into tree trunks, click ok and then position your new forest behind the treeline. FastTraxx
