Subject: Pic as sky?

Is there a way to use a pic as the sky, sort of like a backdrop? I've been playing around, and although there probably is a way, I haven't found it.

You can use a plan mapped with the image you like to use and resize it so it fills your "backdrop". Guitta

That could work, if I can make sure that it doesn't accept shadows. Off to try!

Well, I can certainly make sure it doesn't accept shadows, but in order to see what I want, I also have to turn off anti-aliasing. It is a starfield in case you were wondering. That unfortunately won't work. I'll just have to do it in postwork.

PS Thanks for the tip. I hadn't thought of that.

Ahother way, as I suggested in another post is : Pick up an atmosphere and delete all but one cloud layer. Now, replace the procedural settings with your picture.

On a similar note, I've been using the Vue "Starfield" as the atmosphere as part of condstructing a planetary "flyby" animation. It looks good when rendered as a single picture, but when I render an animation I seem to generate a random starfield for each frame!

Any thoughts on how to get a static atarfield? I'm using VE 3.1 if that helps.
