After I received a kind response from SAMS3D, I put the finishing touches on my underwater picture. Please take a look and let me know what you think. Thanks again to all who were kind enough to respond to my cries for help. I really appreciate all of your input!

Wow! This is cool... eerie too. I just saw the oars off by themselves in the water... uh oh!

I think you did a good job on the split! I'll have to try it myself.

It turned out really great!

Very nice and well worth the effort! What might be fun to try just to see how the refraction (if any) works, pull the boat closer to the edge split and level off the camera angle just a little. manowar

That is beautiful

Nice image! Hope the guy rowing the boat didn't meet the loch ness monster! :-P

Nice! How'd you do the split? If it wern't for the sharks I'd go swimming.

Actually I don't think the split is well done. It looks like someone used Photoshop to change the color balance of a rectangle region.

The fishes don't seem right in their sizes (exspecially the small fishes seem far too big).

There are tiny waves on the water surface. These should be taken into considerance at the split line, which should follow the surface of the water (being a bit wavy).

Although the fishes "down below" have shadows I am mising the shadows of the boat and the wood. I am not sure, but I think the lighting isn't correct as well (there are reflections on the ground which somehow should be visible on the water surface as well).

mact: You need to read HardRock's last post. Then you'll understand. HR: We all learned something from this I think - I know I did! Message671410.jpg
