Subject: Sketch render settings, anyone?

I tried the sketch renderer in Poser4 with not-so-satisfactory results and the belief, that it takes forever and a day to render a whole image. Also, not all of the presets are very convincing. Did anyone experiment with the sketch renderer and may post some settings and/or tips to achieve better results? I never saw anything like this in the Free Stuff section yet...

Actually, I've done some experimenting and have been able to achieve anime/cartoon effects as well as line drawing effects which look good even in animations. Custom sketch presets that you make yourself can be saved as a preset. This becomes a file under PreferenceSketch Presets which can then be distributed to others. I've found that to get the results I'm looking for I sometimes have to use custom lighting as well as position the camera at certain angles. This helps control how the shadows fall. There are some presets available (I believe in the Funstuff). I will probably post some of mine soon, along with the lights. Davo has some good presets available. Email him and he'll send them to you. Send me an email at krel@injersey.com and I'll see what I can dig up for you....... Krel

I tend to use the sketch-render in conjunction with a Poser Render, using the sketch as an overlay. This, I find, gives the best effect. Paul

i agree with Lobo, if you play around with the "color blend"-slider you get different results with the "real" poser picture in the background shining through the white parts of the sketchrender. Tip of the day: I use the presets sometimes as a picture-processing tool only. load a picture, for example a scanned photo, as background, delete all objects from the scene, turn on the sketch-render window and play around with the settings. Easy way to turn a photo into "crayon-style". :o) Theres no such effect in photoshop (or i havn't found one, yet, which looks as good as the sketch render i have smiles)
