Hiya! Welcome to one of the best Carrara forums on the net. Kixum is the moderator and he knows his stuff! try out his Light Saber tut it is a lot of fun! This forum rocks, especially for inexperienced people like me. From what I understand, Carrara 2 is release ready and has been sent to be stamped. The boxes and things are finished and Eovia has stated that they will begin shipping it, to the people that order it from the website, on June 5th. I ordered it the day it was announced as did most pople on this forum, so I hope to see it in time for the weekend! Welcome onboard! Regards, -Paul

Errr, Man Renderosity needs a better forum software, I hate not being able to edit my posts! Anyway I typed pople and it should say People!

Yep, Welcome!

We have a lot of Carrara users here ranging from brand new to graduated seniors. I would probably consider myself a junior, litst, Mark Bremmer, and Eric Winemiller are senior class just to name a few.

Hope you have fun and welcome aboard.

I've just been reading about it in Digit, it looks amazing. If it's as good as it appears you'll be getting more from the Poser forum over here! I can't access the Eovia site, will this version be able to import Daz figures? The dog on one of the pictures in Digit looks decidedly Daz-ish....

Yes you can import OBJ DAZ3D files into Carrara Studid 2.0 and add bones to them. Ringo

Fantastic! We've been discussing C2 over on the Poser forum, I'm amazed that people there aren't blown away with the possibilities....

I'm blown away with the possibilities, that's why Carrara caught my eye. I plan on buying it next month. Still new to Poser but not new to MetaC stuff. I find poser to be very easy to use and am digging into the heirarchy editor and cr2 files already. Interesting thing is that you can add bones in the Poser Pro Pack to existing models. The compatability of C2 to Poser/Bryce is outstanding and short of any serious disaster reports, I've settled on C2 for my first purchase modeler. The freebies like Metasequoia are great but limited and its time to get with the program.
