I forgot to add yesterday that I was uploading a light fiting model to my freebies section too:)

It comes in *vob format (poser format on it's way soon) and also has lights grouped in with it, although these are turned off by default.

A quick way of changing the light settings is to cick on the first light, then shift click on the last one (PC - I don't know about macs) so they are all selected, then go ahead and alter the lights as you would as per a single light, and the setting will effect all of them at the same time.

That's probably in the Vue manual, and most peeps probably already know about it, but I only discovered it yesterday after fiddling with the indervidual lights for ages :P

And heres a picture of the light in my front room that I used for the model, although I missed off the hangy crystal bits, as the geometry is already big enough. I won't be posting anymore freebies after this. Also the finished model had a huge amount of polys (the vob was 14mb) so I had to reduce them a lot to make it workable.

And here's the image that I modled the light for. I also made the spider plant, the pot, the sofas and the standard lamp. The chess set and the table are what came with Vue4. Angela

Very nice model and thanks for the screenshots:-). There was no need for it. Anyhow, so everybody can see how it looked "unmapped". Great work. Guitta

Thanks :) One thing that I have noticed is that in the Vue render that the light bulbs look huge, I know that I didn't get the scaling right but do you think that it could be the refraction index being too high? I also made a lovely cut crystal bumpmap in Vue for the glass, but when I turned the lights on they gave off awful shadows, any ideas how to overcome this? Alla

What you could try is to go in the material editor of the glass and in the transparency tab. There try to change FADE OUT COLOR and LIGHT COLOR both to white. If this is not anough, you could try to decrease or to increase the refraction index. I have this idea, but of course, it is difficult to say without having the model under the hand. Guitta
