Ron, I can only speak for myself. I personally don't need or want anyone to babysit for me and tell me what catagory I have to put my merchandise in. I'm an adult and don't abuse my merchannt priveledges, so you're best off talking to those that you feel do.

Let me put it to you plainly. I am a customer. Renderosity has a system whereby there are categories people can use for searching, and purchases. It seems to me this system exists, and should be supported by the merchants, for the convenience of their customers. I happen to be one of those customers. Now I hope someone else will come in here and continue this conversation in the positive manner it deserves. Ron
Well, the prime place to voice your concerns would be in the customer survey being sent out this week

Ron, for once gasp, horror of horrors (j/k), I heartily agree with you. HOWEVER... Judith is right, in that the best place to bring this up -AT THE PRESENT TIME- is the Marketplace Survey. The fact that only you, Judith, and I have bothered to respond should have told you that.
Remember, kids! Napalm is Nature's Toothpaste!
Well, if I ever get my survey I'll certainly send it in. I have to agree that things in the wrong categories is one of the things I have trouble with in the store. It doesn't make much sense to me to totally leave it up to the vendor...what's the point of hosting a store if people can just willy nilly put things whereever they want? No wonder I have such a hard time finding anything.
I'd better rephrase before I get myself in trouble, because it looks like I misunderstood the problem.... Sorry about that Ron. Yes, responsible merchants should put their merchandise in the proper catagories. It's not beneficial to the customer and themselves not to. Perhaps someone to review the submissions as they're released may be in order. I really didn't realize it was such a problem. My apologies.

I will make sure that the testers review product categories before a product is released. I thought they were and they might be. I will ask them to do it. Clint

Thanks for the courteous replies. Maybe it isn't a huge problem, but it can be a nuisance, and seems somewhat distasteful in this particular case. Naked men, in all their glory don't belong in the same company of the Millennium Girls... As for the survey: I can't complete one if I don't get one. How long should I wait to get one? It's been at least a week since my last Renderosity purchase I believe. Again, thanks for the positive replies. Ron
Ron - I will send you the link via E-Mail. You should have received it by now. Is your E-Mail address here at Rnederosity correct? Clint

just wondering if it ever crossed anyone's mind that if a vendor, when entering keywords for a vicky texture puts: "vicky, daz, 3d, victoria, poser, textures, millenium woman" and a person logs on and does a search for "millenium girls" that it's going to go out and find every single thing that has the word "millenium" in the keywords??? Just curious. Oh look, there's a part of the wall I haven't banged my head on yet... THUMP ow THUMP ow THUMP ow THUMP ow
Some merchants never updated their categories after the Marketplace change. As for Frazella's presence in the Millenium Girls category.. well, that's because Vicki's textures work on the Mill girls, and I have used Frazella on the Mill girls on several occasions. Check my gallery. ;) Same for Stone Maidens. I used the stone textures on the Mill kids, so while the textures shouldn't be purchased SPECIFICALLY for the purpose of the Mill kids, I don't see why saying that the textures will work on the Mill kids is a problem. However, I don't put my products in, say, the MIchael category. I consider category spamming to be abuse, but I honestly don't think anyone does it on purpose. I think a lot of miscategorized products are simply old ones that were never updated.. Edo, VV, etc, are all older works.

This has bugged me for awhile, and I didn't say anything because I was thinking the problem would fix itself. I can't help notice that many items are placed in absolutely the wrong categories. I searched the Millennium Kids category and found Avery, Edo, Frazella, Jayne, Massive Mike's combat poses, Partial Poses for Voluptuous Vicky and Friends, Justice for Mike, Vicky's Beauty Poses, Zulu... etc. Some of these obviously have nothing to do with the Millennium Kids. I did search a few just in case they dealt with "multiple characters," such as Vicky and the Millennium Girls. I might have even missed a few other items that were out of place. Is it possible to fix this problem? I for one think some of these items are "in bad taste," when you consider someone is looking for stuff for the Millennium Kids. Ron
