This is a character I recently did. I just felt like posting it. His head was designed in Max 3.1 and the textures are done with Photoshop and Quickdirt. The body is the Zygote Muscle Man Poser Model. He was posed with Character Studio and rendered in Max. Pro Optics Suite was used for highlight FX. Thanks for letting me share with all of you!!! :)

Cool figure - he looks like something you'd see in the pages of Heavy Metal :) Paul

Hi redvant, Nice Character modelling. You said he was posed in Character Studio. Can Poser models be posed in this program as they are in Poser? If they can, what version of Character Studio can do this? Tribe.

Tribe: I had to go through the process of applying the physique modifier in Character Studio 2.2 (Plugin for 3D Studio Max 3.1) for me to pose him. That took some time to get things working just right. Attaching the mesh to a biped can sometimes take days. I wish I could have slapped the poser in there and attached the head; but life and technology aren't that easy. The reason I'm using Character Studio and Max is because I'm animating him along with many others for a possible series on my website. Character Studio is best for animation.

heya; cool! (but quickdirt??? what the heck is a quickdirt?)

redvant ( ) posted Sun, 13 February 2000 at 8:25 PM

bloodsong: Quickdirt is a new plugin from Digimation for Max. It applies dirt to your 3d objects. It adds a realistic touch. It's a lot like DirtyReyes by Infografica. The problem with 3D is that it's too clean. The real world is full of dust and grime. This plugin attempts to make 3D more natural.

Looks like an orc from Blood Bowl!

Don't know were I conjured this fellow up from. That's what I love about 3D. You can create anything that comes out of your imagination. :)
