I live in upper east TN. The Tri Cities Area. Anybody ever heard of it. I feel like the only one in a 100 miles or more who even know what Poser is. Am I right, or wrong??

Butch ( ) posted Mon, 03 June 2002 at 10:07 PM

I live in Georgia, Sky Valley, which is in Rabun County. Depending on where you are exactly, you could be with an hour or 90 minutes of me Butch

Sorry, I'm at the exact other end of Tennessee... Good ol' Memphis.

Remember, kids! Napalm is Nature's Toothpaste!

Well it is nice to know that I can look out my window and know "somewhere, out there, benieth the pale moon light, some one's " using poser in my state :) As strange as it sound, it makes me feel a bit better, in my area I have yet to know anybody who's even heard of it (well unless I told them, sadly none are artists or techies ) if anybody else comes out of the wood work let me know. Well at least I'll get to see some of you at the Dragon Con.

ChuckEvans ( ) posted Tue, 04 June 2002 at 9:17 AM

I'm from Atlanta. At least twice a year, I travel to Nashville on business (via Chatanooga). Oh, and once I drove past Dollywood...grin.

Butch ( ) posted Tue, 04 June 2002 at 9:31 AM

Hey, Chuck, what part of Atlanta? I lived on the south side, Morrow, for years and I still live part time about 30 minutes or so south of Atlanta in a small town called Jenkinsburg.

Hiram ( ) posted Tue, 04 June 2002 at 11:20 AM

As I recall, R'osity HQ is in TN, isn't it?

ChuckEvans ( ) posted Tue, 04 June 2002 at 11:49 AM

Butch, I live in that imaginary part of Atlanta only rumored to exist...you know anything south of I-20. Actually, I live in Henry county, in the top 5 fastest-growing counties in the US for 4 years running...between McDonough and Stockbridge (home of Collective Soul).

EricTorstenson ( ) posted Tue, 04 June 2002 at 1:04 PM

JDexter, I went to school at MTSU! (Lebanon is just north of M'boro, isn't it?) I have some friends that grew up in the town where the big NASCAR track is (can't remember which town that is), which I thought was near Johnson City (isn't that one of the tri-cities?). I'm in Alabama (Huntsville), now. Tried to get a Job in Chattanooga, but nobody was hiring when I graduated :( I really do miss Tennessee. eric

Bobasaur ( ) posted Tue, 04 June 2002 at 1:18 PM

Chuck, I live just down the road from you. I'm a couple of blocks south of I-20. In Arlington, Texas (between Dallas & Ft. Worth).

Before they made me they broke the mold!

Chuck, Hey Cool, I grew up in that neck of the woods, Butts County. I know the area you are talking about pretty well. I still can't get over all the changes that occurred in the last 20 years or so. Jenkinsburg, the town that I grew up in never had more 250 people in for years and years, yet in the last three years the population has just about tripled and expects to triple again in the next two years. Maybe sometime we ought to get together Butch

markm ( ) posted Tue, 04 June 2002 at 4:28 PM

Well ,I don't live near Tennessee but I like the fact that we have a few "southerners" here . I'm from Anderson , South Carolina .

ChuckEvans ( ) posted Tue, 04 June 2002 at 5:49 PM

I tend to travel around the southeast on business. Another of the places is Columbia, SC. But I don't pass Anderson, do I? I think I'm getting it confused with the place about 30 miles west of Columbia. Hey Butch, are you the one who posted that long message some time back about how to get around in Atlanta (posted for the DragonCon to be held here)? Things people should know about the south?

JDexter ( ) posted Tue, 04 June 2002 at 7:11 PM

Eric, Yep, jump on 840 and you are in Lebanon ion 15 minutes from the Boro (that leg of 840 is complete.) Renderosity is in Metrocenter in Nashville, I used to work in that area of town, about a 45 minute communte from Lebanon. Maybe we should have a Poser Party here in TN? hehe. I like Huntsville, it's a good area to be as well. I have a few friends down there. Not too far from here either. (Closer to me than Memphis or Tri-cities) JDexter

ChuckEvans ( ) posted Tue, 04 June 2002 at 7:14 PM

Been there, too...Huntsville, that is. Had a friend I visited regularly. Nice city/town. High cost of living, though, with all those hi-tech jobs there. Nice houses REALLY expensive! Pretty country, though.

Wadus ( ) posted Tue, 04 June 2002 at 7:22 PM

the big eyesore... I mean NASCAR track is in Bristol. I'm not really a Poser(whats that?? lol) user but I've used it a couple of times and I live in Bristol, TN...

ChuckEvans ( ) posted Tue, 04 June 2002 at 7:24 PM

I think I've been by there too, but may have mistaken it for Johnson City's drag strip (right?). I remember coming around a curve in the road and seeing these huge (tall) stands and a glimpse of a track.

Wadus ( ) posted Tue, 04 June 2002 at 7:30 PM

the drag stip is in Bristol also, at the same place as the racetrack... The road the track is on goes straight into Johnson City...

ChuckEvans ( ) posted Tue, 04 June 2002 at 7:36 PM

Was a while back...grin. I grew up in Morganton, NC, and some of the GOBs (good ole boys) towed their cars to Johnson City to race...trying to work their way up to the bigtime, I guess.

Wadus ( ) posted Tue, 04 June 2002 at 7:40 PM

speaking of GOB Cooter(remember him??) was a the drag stip this past weekend, there was some kind of car show going on. I guess he was polytikin' :)

ChuckEvans ( ) posted Tue, 04 June 2002 at 7:43 PM

Hmmm, can't place all my Cooter's tonight...that wouldn't be a Boss Hawg char, would it?

Wadus ( ) posted Tue, 04 June 2002 at 7:47 PM

He was the mechanic on the Dukes of Hazzard...

ChuckEvans ( ) posted Tue, 04 June 2002 at 7:50 PM

Yep, that's it...hard to keep the GOBs straight...grin. Milking his old show for all it's worth, I guess. I could have watched the show in my time, 'cept Boss Hawg made me hurl.

Wadus ( ) posted Tue, 04 June 2002 at 7:56 PM

lol I know what you mean. I always liked all the car chases and ofcourse Daisy...

ChuckEvans ( ) posted Tue, 04 June 2002 at 7:58 PM

See, all this talk has resulted in something...where is the Poser char for Daisy? Slurp.

Wadus ( ) posted Tue, 04 June 2002 at 8:02 PM

lol :)

Wadus ( ) posted Tue, 04 June 2002 at 8:03 PM

also where's the General Lee???

Butch ( ) posted Fri, 14 June 2002 at 4:35 PM

Chuck, sorry about the delay, but that was me that posted the bits about Atlanta.... Just got back from a week in NJ seeing my nephew. He turned one and I got to see and spend time with him for the first time. Yesterday I had to go down to Jackson, and the traffic was backed up on 75 from Forest Park to McDonough... Can't wait for the Dragon Con, to start putting people with names!
