Often enough Poser will give you a result that is not what you intended or expected. But every now and then, the result will in fact be BETTER; if you're too tightly committed to your intention, you'll lose the opportunity to learn and improve. In this case, I'm showing my readers how to get the feel of a series circuit: fill a sink, invert a pan in the middle to form the loop, plop down an obstacle in the path to simulate a resistance or load, and then you can be the battery. The real goal is to feel how the energy is used up by the time it comes around to the back of your hand. Attempting to make the Block look less like a gold ingot and more like a generic household object [and also, I must admit, thinking about $99.00 spheres], I applied the nearest available texture and bump map. Hmm. Not very satisfying; it's neither a good block of wood nor a good brick. Wait!!!! It's a SPONGE! In many years of teaching and thinking about electronics, I've never found a really satisfying analogy for resistance, but a sponge does the job. Water molecules fighting their way through the pores of the sponge are an exact metaphor to electrons fighting through an imperfect conductor, giving up energy to heat along the way. Thanks, Poser!

~L~ and the momentum of the water is a capacitor, stored energy. ~ducking for cover~
