Ok this is probably me or a well known thing but twice in the last few weeks I have had objects that have worked fine previously suddenly decide they wont load, get the 'cant load object (path to .obj file in geometries) message'. Now Ive done nothing asside from trying to load a pz3 that the objects are part of so Im a little puzzled at these objects with a mind of there own! LOL. In the last instance (last night) i just deleted the offender and reinstalled it and it seemed fine (so far anyhow heheh). What im wondering is if the .rsr or something isnt getting messed up but the thing that realy puzzles me is the file path it couldnt find the .obj on was correct down to the last capital letter and dotted i.

um, done any system maintenance lately? could be lost cluster of data from heavy use without scandisking and defragging the hd. other than that, no idea why it happening. I'm assuming you use an av to check everything you download of course.

sometimes rsr's do get corrupted. What I usually do is load the file then go in and make the rsr read only so it never gets corrupt. delete the objects rsr and reload and see if that helps anything

At the risk of repeating myself today...the rsr files get corrupted all the time. The very first think to try is delete the rsr file that corresonds with the obj giving the error. Poser will rebuild the rsr file next time you load the item. If you make working geometry rsr's read only you can reduce these errors.

Yea I read your previous post after i put this up 'sci', been spending the last hour setting them to read only LOl thanks for the answer!! thought it was just me :)

If the program can't find an obj file it can give you an out of memory message. Just a note for reference.

Kurgen...save lots of time by using windows search function to find all .rsr's in the geometries folder only. You can then select them all, right click, select properties, and set them all to read only in one shot ;)

been spending the last hour setting them to read only LOl If you are using windows, you should be able to do a search for rsr under geometries (Start->Search), and select all the appropriate files (you might have to sort by file type). Once they are all selected, you should be able to mass change their attributes (read only, read-write....) I'm sure Macs have something similar, but haven't used one in a long time, so I don't know how you go about doing it on that platform. eric
