I doubt it's a bug. The OBJ import plugins cause this if you have more than one copy in the Poser directory or the plugin components don't match up. Meaning you installed this by hand and were not very careful to make sure the files were updated correctly. Check the plugin carfully and make sure they match the ones in the zip and that you have no other copies anywhere in Poser directory. -JH.

JeffH, I have just checked it again and again: here are the results: 1. Obj still is not in Poser 2. Dials are still unusable PS. I triple checked the directories, trust me

FFOBJ.arp and FFOBJ.rsr should both have the date 02/11/00. If any one of these two components have the old dates 01/03/99 and 10/13/99 you will get the problem you described.

Unfortunately they have exactly this date 02.11.00

Well I won't argue with you about it anymore. I have the very same patch installed and I have none of these problems. Did you make a backup of the old plugins and happen to store them in the Poser directory? I mean anywhere in the poser directory? -JH.

I am not arguing , merely trying to figure out. does it offend? Yeah I have already reinstalled beta 116.

JeffH ( ) posted Wed, 16 February 2000 at 7:52 AM

117 is working fine for me so it must be something other than a bug.

PhilC ( ) posted Wed, 16 February 2000 at 8:03 AM

maybe beta 117 should be installed after a clean reinstall from the CD? or did you do that already?

JeffH ( ) posted Wed, 16 February 2000 at 8:14 AM

A clean install is not needed because it doesn't have an Installer program. I don't think I made myself clear before... This program error will occur if there are multiple copies of the plugins within the Poser directory. Example: One copy in the plugins directory and one copy in a back-up folder within the Poser directory. It may also occur if the plugin *.arp and *.rsr are not matched for each other. Example: FFOBJ.arp from Beta 116 and FFOBJ.rsr from Beta 117. If you want to see this in action make a folder within your poser directory called "Test" and put your old OBJ plugins in it. The new copies will be in the Plugins directory as directed. Import or export an .OBJ file and watch Poser meltdown ;-) -JH. PS: No dunga, it doesn't offend.
