Subject: Carrara Book Cancelled

The publisher has little faith in the future of Carrara and cancelled the author's contract for the Carrara Handbook. -JH.

I had a section in the book and spent a good number of hours putting it together. Thats a major bummer. Clint (Really pissed off)

Hey Clint, What would prevent all of you working on the book to develop your chapters anyway, and sell .pdf versions of the book online? I have friends who are still creating and producing games for the Atari Jaguar (yes, games are still being released in small release!). So if they can do that, who says you guys couldn't do your book anyway?! 8^) Headgamer P.S. The new computer is being built this weekend! Woo-hoo!

Headgamer, Thanks for the encouragement. I have been thinking about something along those lines. I'll have to see. I'm currently swamped with calls from head hunters. which carrera book has been cancelled? i know of two that were in the planning stages... that's disappointing to hear. but if anyone's interested in publishing pdf versions of their chapters, i'd be willing to help since i've got acrobat 4...

SmallFry - I'll keep that in mind. It was a book by Shamms mortier. The publisher pulled out due to the mess at MetaCreations. Shamms is currently looking for another publisher so the book may still make it to print. I have my fingers crossed. Clint

I just noticed that, according to Amazon.com, the Carrara 1.0 Bible by Doug Sahlin has been pushed back to May. When I checked two weeks ago I thought was due by the end of February. I hope this book doesn't get cancelled, too. What a pisser. Jeff
