Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 25 12:38 pm)
Pat, The file that you earlier had imported... did you save it to the library? If you could and did, then the problem probably isn't with that file. I have found meshes with inverted facets or UV coordinates (they are obvious upon rendering... if you ever wondered what someone's hair would look like inside out) but they usually don't affect everything loaded afterwards. Hmm... Was one of these 3ds files grotesquely huge? (Like more than enough to consume your system's resources?) Carolly
Nope. But, now that I've had some sleep, I'm wondering if it was a 3DS file that I tried to import and crashed Poser earlier yesterday? Could that have somehow damaged Poser's import abilities? That has happened before and Poser worked OK after a restart, though......? Hope I'm not going to have to reinstall..........................................
Good luck! {hug} Most of the 3ds stuff I've installed has been small items, like clipboards or other things which can be held in the hands, rather than encompassing scenes such as temple interiors. I've had troubles with textures on some of these pups but they haven't taken a bite of the main program. I hope the restart helps. If you still have problems, I should be up by noon and you can call me. We'll figure out what to delete and where before reinstalling the whole shebang. Carolly

After successfully importing a lot of props, Poser now gives me a message about there being no facet data in each file that I try to import.....? Tried reimporting a prop that I installed into the Prop library recently, and now Poser can't read it either. Seems like something has gotten royally screwed up, but what? Where should I be looking for the problem?
