brazure01.jpgcandlestick.jpgknife01.jpgtwinblade.jpg Here are the models I am working on right now. And here is what I need to know, how many of you would pay $3.00-$5.00 apiece for these? I am putting a LOT of time into these models, and I think that those of you who have downloaded my free ones will say they are pretty good quality (some of them have been downloaded over 200 times). But I need to start making something from this little "hobby" of mine, and compared to what I have seen, I think $3.00-$5.00 is awfully cheap. But the REAL question is..do YOU guys think so, and would you buy them if they were that cheap..? :)

I'd have no problem paying the prices you quote, Cyb. You do really great stuff! One minor point, though, concerning the brazier (first object). The section at the red orb looks a touch unstable, sort of like a universal joint? Fabulous modelling, nonetheless :) ~ Dave

I like them and I would pay for them. Price sounds right too. Have at it and I wish you luck.

I like them too and the pricing is very good. ZETT

Excellent suggestion, Allerleirauh! Perhaps, Cyb, you could offer the individual models at the prices you suggest, and a collection at a slightly reduced (than per model) rate? ~ Dave

Yeah, I'd pay cash money for those. I agree with Allie and Dave, sell the individual models at the price you quote and bundles at a reduced price. You'll probably sell more that way. Either way, best of luck with your venture Paul

I have to say I agree. You could have the "Demonic Temple" Collection with the above props, maybe the same props but elongated, and an altar or something. Something to rescue a damsel in distress from. smile I would love to see more high quality collections with a common theme and would bring out the cred card for said collections.

I think you all are right. };]I appreciate the input. Now, I need to figure out HOW to sell them. Zygote only gives 35% of the net income....not good if I am only asking 10-15 bucks for a set....and Bbay is just under 50%....I understand they take a lot of the hassle out of the process, but....};]In any case, I will let you all know as soon as something is worked out. Thanks again for the input!

Butch ( ) posted Tue, 22 February 2000 at 11:44 AM

why not sale them directly to people. That way you can keep all the money. If that is the case with BBay and Zygote, that's totally unfair. The other sites that I have done busy with over the net for roughly the same kind of service, they only charge 20 to 25%. Ebay is the one that I am think of. They could have changed since the last time I checked. I firmly believe that the person who creates something, no matter what it is deserves to profit from their work, not the agent that sells it. I also know that creating and building internet sites is expensive, but to keep half or more of the selling price is nothing but GREEEDY.

In their defense, they are doing a lot for the artists. Without them, you would have to get your own tax ID number, set up credit card payment for a business (which is pretty hard) and are providing space for the artists. All in all, both artist and broker benefit. The broker benefits by having a steady income and the artist benefits by having more time to spend on creating things (and no, I am an artist, not a business owner.smile)

yes, they do a lot, but if I only ask $5.00 for an item, then losing over 50% is not an option. I am however finding other possible ways that do not require merchant accounts, tax IDs etc...ECharge and ClickBank are two I am reading about right now. More info a little later.

One other thing, I saw a program in a store that would let you set up an e-business, it does credit cards, creats tax reports, etc. A tax number is not that hard to get, and you could always just except money orders or cashiers checks. Check with an accountant or a lawyer, if you want to, but setting up an e-business is more scary than hard. I have investagated several business, but in the end decided the business wasn't worthwhile. The setting up was going to be the easy part. Remember the fifth monkey!

I really like the brazier. Could you make a crystal ball stand similar to that? Definitely worth the price.
