The jpg above is the stock P4 casual woman .pz3 file opened (NOT exported) and rendered in LW 7.5 with enhanced medium anti-aliasing and a stock background image from the LW 7.5 content disc. This is ONLY for those users (Mac OR PC) who have Poser 4 with ProPack and LightWave 7.5. With that caveat out of the way, I've been trying to get PPP to work with LW7.5 with not only characters but animations as well. I knew it could be done with the Poser to LW plug-ins for LW 5, 5.6, 6., and 6.5 and only heard that it might work with 7.5. After pulling out what's left of my hair, I've finally hit on a seamless solution that works on BOTH PLATFORMS!!!! Here's the whole procedure (it works for BOTH Poser4/LW7.5 for PC and Poser4/LW7.5 for Mac): 1. Download the SR3 core pack and the Poser to LW plug-in from the Curious Labs web site (separate files). When you install the SR3 core pack, do NOT install the LW plug-in at the requestor. Do that as a separate step. 2. After you have installed the SR3 pack, install the Poser to LW plug-in. If you have LW 7.5 (which you should if you're reading this!), choose the LightWave 6-6.5 option in the dialog box that pops up asking for your LightWave version. 3. (Optional for Mac users) Restart your Mac and press down the Command and Option keys to rebuild the desktop. 4. Start LightWave 7.5 Layout (PC and Mac) and click the Layout drop-down for Plugins, then choose Edit Plug-ins from the sub menu. Click the Scan Directory button and select the PzrForLW folder that was made by the Poser to LW plug-in installer and click the Choose button. The requestor box will state 2 plugins for 2 files. Click the OK button and click the Done button. Now exit LW Layout for the plug-in to register with the program. 5. (Optional for both platforms) With your right hand making a circular motion on your stomach, your left hand patting the top of your head, and both feet tapping out a 5/4 rhythm, slowly chant "this will work" 50 times. Note - must be done in a standing position in front of a mirror. 6. Create a character and animation in Poser. You can save the figure with its pose in EITHER the standard .pz3 or the compressed .pzz file format. NO exporting is necessary. You don't necessarily have to have an animation - you can create a static pose and still save as a .pz3 or .pzz file. 7. You can optionally quit Poser. 8. Start LW Layout and open the Poser file you just saved. In Layout, choose FileLoadLoad Scene and choose All Documents to show the pz3/pzz files. Highlight and open. 9. The first time you run the plug-in, a LW requestor box asks for the location of the Poser.dta file, which is located in your main Poser 4 folder. Next, a standard requestor will ask if you want to keep regular polygons or choose triangular mesh (I select the latter). 10. The Poser file now loads into Layout with all the textures, colors, clothes, etc - including the animation! Look at Layout's timeline and you will see the same number of frames that you had for the animation file in Poser. Please note - I did NOT upgrade from LW 5, 5.6, 6, 6.5, OR 7.0 - all I have is the full 7.5 version of LightWave for Windows and Macintosh and Poser 4 with Poser Pro Pack for Windows and Macintosh (NO upgrade from Poser 3). Your mileage may vary. Next project - I wonder if a character with a Mimic pose and soundtrack will work in LW, without the import/export two-step dance! scara

Good to know (I'll be starting with LW in the fall) - Thanks for sharing it in such detail!
