I am in the process of making a facial hair prop. Something similar to Anton's fantasy beard but more focused on short beards, goatees and other shorter styles. The prop is made and mapped with UVmapper already. I took a look at the conforming clothes tutorials on here but I couldn't relate the methods to get any type of success, but I did manage to break the beard up into the proper parts with textures, mustache, sideburns etc. If anyone can point me to any better tutorials or simpler ones, that I would be able to teach myself how to conform the beard figure to the head, or explain to me how to do it, I would be very thankfull. Then all I'll have is to give Tailor a try at transfering morphs:) Thanks in advance for any help in advance. Above is a render of the prop and a texture, but no transmap yet.

Make a group named 'head' for your beard and assign the whole thing to it. Find a CR2 of an item for Mike that has a 'head' Body part. Import the OBJ file for that figure...uncheck all options on import. Import your beard and position it so it matches the other OBJ. Export your beard and uncheck all export options except for the export group names one. Make a copy of the cR2 and edit the 2 OBJ reference lines to point to your beard's location.

Not withstanding the above I would just make it a smart prop with the "bends option" selected. This because it is only attaching to a single body part and its much, much easier to do. Its going to be more tricky to match the morphs. For this I would try the Taylor program, or the magnets.

That's what I love about Anton's Fantasy Beard; it has a ton of morphs that correspond to Michael's head-shape morphs, including the mouth phonemes. It's even Mimic-compatible!
