I have been doing some modelling in C4D and exported as wavefront obj to Poser. My problem is that the object ( a simple lathed spline vase) appears with it's front faces missing. It's all relative to position, but as you rotate, the front faces are transparent. I have seen this before, but wondered what causes it, and how do I rectify it. I wondered f it had anything to do with normals, but since all my polygons are facing outwards, I am stumped. I assume that there is something very simple i am overlooking!? Cheers in advance!

Hey, Krome! Sounds like reversed facets. Correct the facets with "Reverse Group Normals" in the grouping editor. H:)

Thanks hog! - I have just been perusing posertech actually, which links off to a tute on sorting out errant normals! - this is cool, but ideally, I need to be able to identify and prevent theis happening in C4D! I'l persist!! - thanks again!

I've had funnies with normals with Amapi... ...Like a couple of small parts of the model having incorrect normals when imported into Poser. Generally, it seems to happen with exactly the "vase" type extrusions you've had it with. I've always used the GT to fix them... quick and easy! Good luck! H:)
