Subject: Need some advice on supportive programs

Heyas everyone :) After falling in love with Poser, I've decided that I would like to start making props and clothing (can't wait to give back to the community for all the wonderful shares that I've recieved!). What I would like to know is what are the common programs that folks here use in making props and clothing articles. I'm looking for something that is low budget (if there is such a thing lol) and being that I'll be quite a newbie at doing this, preferably program(s) that are easy to use/understand or that you can get tutorials/help with. Thanks in advance

Ultimate Unwrap3D : another UV-mapper, $29 (demo available)
Morph Manager 4.0 : freeware
EditPad Lite : text editor, freeware
P3dO Explorer : file management and thumbnail editing, freeware
Paint Shop Pro : image editing and conversion, ~$100
Crossroads 3D : 3D file conversion, free

LD I am sure you keep a list like this open on your screen just in case...I prob couldnt have remembered a more comprehensive list. Dont forget the free versions of Amapi and truespace that have been flying around on magazine covers etc.

I don't actually have to remember these ... I use them every day, and they're all tucked neatly into one folder of my Start menu for easy access. This is just what I regularly use ... lots more where that came from.

Metasequoia is another good free modeling program. Also check this link for more 3D apps: http://www.computerarts.co.uk/downloads/3d/apps.asp

I put up some metasequoia tuts and plan to do more. The tut on freeware apps has some links to sites with a large variety of things to play with. (check out the tut on making and texturing models using freeware)

I just picked up Strata 3D 2.5 from a magazine cover disk, is that any good for modelling for Poser?
