Does it support multiple Keys?

That would be useful for items that use parts of more than one item.

Supporting multiple required "key" files would be a fairly easy addition. The current encoding methodology would work just fine with multiple key files. The biggest change would be to the user interface of the utility to support optional, multiple key files.

This is a very versatile encryption/decryption tool, rcook. I tried it out with a couple of JPEG files (one as the key file, the other to be encoded), and it worked perfectly. Among other uses, this could potentially be used to safely distribute modified versions of marketplace textures, since you'd need the original texture as the key file.

Awesome! My goal was always to provide a tool that worked with text or binary files. I didn't want to limit it in any way, because the users will think of ingenious uses for it that I never could have. Thanks for giving it a try!

OK, now is this the same program that is involved in the latest controversy concerning "theft of intellectual property?!" Has this been tested? I'll wait for awhile to see just how this comes out. Then I'll think if I want to bother making anything that will need it.

No, that controversy involved MartinC's encoder project. This one is by rcook. Similar concept, independent development. Check it out while you're waiting, Ron. I think it has a lot of potential, even beyond Poser.

The great part about this encoder is that it is capable to encode even binary files, which it has a lot of potential from my point of view. The best of all is that Russ is releasing in a very generous way, which will allow the users of the encoder to use it for commercial use too. Thank you very much Russ for such kind contribution for the community. Best Regards Virus

I too thank you Russ for the work you put into this for us and the generosity in which you give it.

I've just tried encrypting an MP3, using an audio CD's track (.cda) as the key. It isn't going to halt the piracy industry, but it does present some interesting possibilities for validation of ownership.
