Hi All My third picture with Vue, exploring vegetation. It isn't finished yet but I have to show somebody :-) Things I have yet to do: 1) Vegetation to the right of the picture, I shall have more in the finished picture to flesh out that side of the jungle 2) Atmosphere, this is gonna be the make or break of the whole picture, I am trying to find a good misty and humid atmosphere that doesn't look foggy, see my 'The Taste of Paradise' post for my formal request for help on a jungle like atmosphere. Anyway, any comments welcome, hope you all like it so far. Best wishes Jody

heya; neat! not sure how to make a steamy jungle, though... have you tried doing fog that gathers at high altitude instead of low? or maybe you need some big spheres in the scene with a few wispy thing clouds on them. some tendrils in amongst everything, you know? your vegetation is looking a bit too large... if this is supposed to be a zigguraut temple. either that, or it is too close to the camera. the scale right now makes it look like a model, maybe 6 inches high. you could probably fix this if you put the camera looking up at it, and maybe play with changing the focal length.

The scale of the vegetation is a something I'm 50% about, I think it looks rather cool big, still, I can play around. The atmosphere is really tricky, espeically as it takes about 30 minutes to check each change :-)

Hi Jody, One thing you can do when checking atmospheres is put almost all of your objects on a seperate layer, make the layer hidden, then check "render only visible layers" under render options. Maybe leave one foreground, a middle and a background plant on the main layer. That way your previews should be much quicker. Hope this helps. Gail
