Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 18 10:25 pm)
No, only 38 folders under Characters. I can still add new folders; they'll work. But the PhilC folder doesn't, and never has. It won't open in the Library.
I don't know what my machine has against PhilC, but its opinion is not a reflection of my own.
I think I've finally figured it out, however. Listen carefully. The boxer shorts .zip has a text file named:
if_you_can_not_read_the_html_file_then_here_is_the_text_version.txt
No, really. I'm not making this up.
In my anal-retentive dragon manner, I keep all the readme's bundled with associated files in the Libraries, so I can easily identify the author if necessary. The text-file-with-a-needlessly-long-name was in the PhilC folder all this time. And apparently, that's what has been freaking Poser out. I moved the text file out of the PhilC folder, and suddenly all was sunshine and lollipops. I create a very-long-name file in another folder, and suddenly that folder has dropped into a dark abyss that Poser cannot penetrate.
So watch those filename lengths, everyone. They're evil.
slaps Little Dragons wrist don't you go moving them there files about, they extract to a set folder for a reason.
I originally had a much shorter name aimed at the folks who would email me with questions that could be answered by reading the readme file. Unfortunately it was those same folks who did not know what RTFM stood for :)

Don't confuse me with the facts, Phil. :) Actually, what I do, since I don't use those @#%$% MAT files, is I open everything to a temp directory and then I change Texture names and such by adding "PhilC" or whomever to the front so I know who made it. Much easier to put all the textures for the halter dress in one folder, the pants in another, the shoes in still another, etc. Only things I don't change are the .obj filenames and folders and the .cr2 names. I do the same things with props and such so I can keep track of what goes with which and who made it. Gawd, I would kill for subdirectories in the libraries. sigh Kate the semi-organized

I'm running ProPack and have a problem with the library PNGs. For some reason I'm getting a blank image (just the circle with no image, as if the PNG file was blank) on some of the files. The PNGs are there and unaltered in the directory, but somehow Poser isn't reading them correctly. Someone must have run across this before and if so, does anyone have any idea what is going on?
