Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Feb 03 12:46 am)
First of all, you need to make sure you're downloading the correct textures for the correct figures. Each figure, P4 fem, vicki, stephanie, etc, uses a specific texture map. When you decide what figure you're using, get some textures for it and study them. If it's the P4 fem, for example, they'll all be identical. They only vary in map size, like from 1000x1000 to 3000x3000, but they all fit her. An average map size would be 1600x1600. On your content CD you should find the templates for each figure. These show the areas to be painted for each body part. Take it from there. mac

The good news is that I can give you the answer, the bad news is that it could be extremely confusing.. :( There is NO set size for Poser "skins". If you don't have templates for the items that you are trying to make textures for, it is however, a reasonably simple process to create them. The first thing that you are going to need is the program UVmapper (see link). After you've installed UVmapper just fire up Poser select the item that you need a template for and export a copy of it as an obj file. Start up UVmapper and load the obj file into it, if the object already has a UV map it will appear as the default map. It is then a simple matter to export this map as a bmp file and use it to create whatever texture you require. If the obj file doesn't have a uv map then you will have to use UVmapper to create a new one. Obviously you will probabbly do better to read the help files on the site in the link, as I can't really do justice to this subject in the forum. Hope that this has helped :)This site uses cookies to deliver the best experience. Our own cookies make user accounts and other features possible. i have read all thru the manual and looked around on the net until my eyes were crossed and i have yet to find any information on the specific sizes needed for the poser figures templates/skins. =( can any one help me out?
i have downloaded textures for bodies and all of the sizes have been different even tho most of them tell you to just paste the trans layer on as a new layer.
