Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Feb 02 10:01 am)
"It will be a nightmare if I installed poser5, but find out it takes a day to render a scene with a long hair girl wearing a long dress standing in the wind." i'm afraid that that'll be the time on new pc, if you ever finish rendering that scene on your hardware, you'll be ready same day next week... ;)
triceratops, are you a bit squeamish about upgrading your hardware? is your Mo.Bo. maxed out @ 128MB? I think you can really speed up your PC by looking into a processor upgrade. check @ www.powerleap.com . If you've got a Slot-1 processor, you can upgrade to 1.4GHz. You don't need to get a new PC, just get the most out of what you already have. Of course get more ram too... hehe

This is another question about the system requirements of poser 5. I am now using a pII with 128 MB ram, I dont think it is a good one to run poser 5.And after reading the messages before, I only found out about ram, more ram ,more more ram. Everyone knows that more ram, faster CPU is better, but it is a big question that can poser 5 run on the computer I am using now? The hair and . (and all those new features) need a lot of calculations, so should I buy a new computer for installing poser 5? It will be a nightmare if I installed poser5, but find out it takes a day to render a scene with a long hair girl wearing a long dress standing in the wind. I hope to know how long I still need to wait, a month for poser 5, or many more months, getting money to buy a powerful computer for poser 5?
