Subject: KUPA! 1024 x 768?!?

So... what happens if your system can't handle that resolution? Would the interface just look smaller on 800x600, or would it actually go off the screen making parts of it inaccessible (like some websites I've visited)? I hope it's the former, but I expect it's the latter...:(

Your system can't handle 1024x768? What have you got, a 12-inch monitor?

x2000 ( ) posted Tue, 06 August 2002 at 6:57 AM

Well, I CAN do it, but only at a lower refresh rate, where it's flickering and all. No, my computer isn't very powerful (15" monitor, 533 Celeron, 128 RAM, Win 98SE), but it JUST squeaks in at the minimum requirements, except for this. I desperately want a new system, but right now, that's just not an option for me.

My sympathies. Mine's a 15-incher, also, and I consider 800x600 to be its comfort zone, although I can and do run it up to 1280x1024 on occasion. If you can't afford a complete new system right now, perhaps you could upgrade the monitor and graphics card alone. 17-inch monitors are surprisingly inexpensive at the moment, and since Poser doesn't need a top-of-the-line 3D card, you could make do with a Geforce2.

Time was when 15 inches would have put a smile on anyone's face...

The screen will be really crowded on a 800x600 layout in some rooms. The Pose room will layout as it does in Pro Pack, and should function in that resolution. You may find the top room navigation tabs a bit tight though. Rooms such as cloth, hair and materials need more real-estate and might be very tight as that setting. Kupa

I'm so excited

Hmm. Well, I'll make it work one way or the other. I really need a new system, though.:( You know, come to think of it, I may be able to scrape up the money. I mean, do I really need TWO lungs, kidneys, brain hemispheres, etc. I hear there's a lot of money to be made in body parts. I'll have to make a few phone calls...

Blood is a renewable resource ... don't let the Red Cross folk con you into juice and doughnuts as payment, like they do with everyone else.

Blood? Hmm, hadn't thought of that. Oh well, I already sold one of my livers. Um... you do have TWO of those, right?
