Subject: Poser cat won't load and my .rsr's are invisible....HELP

I searched the forum archives for soulutions to 'won't load' problems and asked around, but the typical fix of deleting the rsr in the Geometries folder won't work for me.....My computer eats rsr's! They're either gone or invisible once I install the file in Poser. My uninstalled copies have them, BTW.... I use Maconverter and Macinstaller and I'm on a new iMac. I need a cat for a pic that's almost done..... Can't get one off of the CD because it's an auto-install and I don't know how to get into it without accidentally installing over my other stuff....HELP!

Ag! If you need to re-install Poser, don't worry about the stuff you already have in your folders. The installer won't delete any files from your content. Just instal Poser over the top of the original and you'll be alright. Promise. H:)

Well, I don't know if this will work with mac but I was told to do this for PC, you get your image rendered, copy it to clip board, then go and insert it as your background in Poser, move your model out of the way and then save it to your library....hope this helps you....Sharen

Macs don't use rsr's, putting the cr2 and rsr through Maconverter combines them so they're not eaten after all! Baz

Hogwarden, thank you for the reassurance. I just may have to reinstall to get the damn cat!*#!! Sharen, I can't get the cat into the scene at all...the missing rsr's may or may not be a clue in why it won't load. I have a feeling they're a factor in the problem, but don't know enough about Poser (or computers in general!) to know for sure. Does anybody know how to get into the Poser files on the install disk without triggering a reinstall?? I could just replace the cat, that way.....?

The missing rsrs should have nothing to do with it if you are on a Mac. But the geometry obj file may have gotten corrupted. I am not sure if you can just replace the cat obj file from the install disk - my might try seeing if there is a custom install option.

In a custom install, I think you just chose the destination. Do you mean I could chose a folder somewhere, rather than installing to the HD? And then go into the installed files to get the cat?

Yes, that's what I was trying to say. If you have room on your HD that might be the easiest way to get an uncorrupted version of the Poser cat.
