This is an excellent idea! being able to customise each card sounds like a good idea too. If the backs could take the /same/ texture map that would be even better!

Yeah!! And if you make it so we can design our own card backs, you will be elevated to the Poser Modeler Hall of Fame.....Or, at the very least, you'll be accrueing good karma all over the place and we will all grovel at the mention of your name..er, handle =:^)

Ok ok... I'll continue the cards as soon as I get hom from work today (sadly my work is totally non-3D-graphics related) The cards can be textured each at a time in that way that any program that uses layers will be able to texture them. At least this is the way I've slapped this (crappy) texture onto them right now. The backs are indeed textureable, they just do not show on this animation. For the front texture of the cards I've (so far) used a screenshot (with following cut-and-paste) of the solitaire in Windows, so if the cards look familiar, that's why G The finished set of cards will have more morphs and also single cards. Now, it's morning, 7:40 and I better get to work sigh I wanna make caaaards.... not do boring office work...

Oh and btw, they are of the RIGHT SIZE ;o)

Lyrra diagrams would indeed be needed. I know less than nothing about Tarot cards, thoug I've thought about making a proper morph for that as well :o) Also do you have any textures for that? Or just a link to a webpage with pictures of Tarot cards will do, but if you want them in a specific pattern please tell me which cards go where and I'll make a texture to fit... he he some sinister forecast perhaps? (er...can you use forecast for this or is it only weather that can be fore- and overcast? - I'm not english speaking you know)

Well I can scan in the diagrams in a bit. The textures - well I think the Rider deck is public domain - but I'd have to check. As far as where the cards go - that's the fortune telling part of it. My personal favorite deck is by Robin Wood - but she'd skin me herself if I scanned her images :) I'll see what I can find for textures - Eh. I really don't want to make all of them myself (78 cards) Maybe just enough for a reading - on the standard layout that'd be 10 cards.

There's always Marseilles That's one of the old decks-- 1800 something. should be in public domain. I have that and many others, plus my own that I don't mind people scanning. If Rider Waite is too copyrighted, the BOTA deck is not and is often used for books and such-- its a clone of RW. Emily

Well in the older decks the minor arcana(the four suites) didn't usually have pictures. In fact, those are the cards that our modern playing cards evolved from.

The Marseilles are almost as simple as modern Playing cards. and only a couple of colors. They would probably work the best. I should scan a few-- Next week?? My computer gets put together Monday with a little luck, which I could use. I would be happy to send the jpegs. The deck I own is from a defunct company and the original deck is of the 1800's. Emily

I'd love that. I'll make a whole new prop for the Tarot cards, as I understand they're layed out 10 at a time, so I couldn't use the 5 card deck anyway :o) IM me for my email adress when the scans are done :o)

You can use a three card layout and a 5 card layout if the ten is too much. I can do a picture in Photoshop and send it along. Those are the most common. I've been doing Tarot for 40 years, which is a little scary in itself. On a secondary note, I was thinking of doing some backgrounds that incorporated my Tarot cards-- collages and fracsflames and things like that. Some Gothic, some sepia romantic. Would anyone be interested? I'd try to make them compatible with Infinity Cove or Richabri's studio or Travs Cyclorama, or all three. They would be collaged work with photoshop and maybe painter overwork. And they would be free. I would need a place to host them. Emily

Queri 10 isn't too much, I'll just have to make a new set, which wouldn't bee too big a task since I can reuse the card itself, that's allready made for the Poker hand. So please send me something :o)
