Subject: Poser 5 Character compatibility question

I am so excited about getting Poser 5, and my parents have said that I can have the computer upgrades needed for it, BUT before we take the plunge, my question is: Will all the Poser 4 characters I have bought over the years from Zygote/DAZ and other independent Poser stores work in Poser 5?? they sure will, if you could get on the CL website it says so in big letters, plus kupa posted that answer here a week ago. Rob

Good thing about P5 is the multiple "runtimes", your not limited to 255 files like P4. You can leave P4 on your machine and reach in and use the files, plus create many runtimes.

Great, Philly. I didn't know that. Because I intended to buy poser 5 immediately, but not install it. (I know....you all think I'm crazy!) But I have a big poser 4 project going on at the moment and I had horrible nightmares of trying to sort out the mess between the 4 and 5 installations. This way, I can hopefully install them side by side. Good! mac

You can have Poser4(identified as Poser4 only), Poser4/Propack, And Poser5 all on your machine at the same time, and access the other two from Poser5. I had nightmares just thinking about reinstallig all my junk into P5.

shadowcat....they won't be wearing the millenium clothing, that's for sure....unless you are using your vicki, mike and step in p5. i believe we will be getting some higher poly, new p4 figures....with awesome textures from rdna. will they have new built in morphs??? i'd bet one of my bottom dollars, or, even my sweet bippie.
