Subject: Who do I talk to about applying for a job here? Who is the R'osity Drug Lord?

It seems y'all are in SERIOUS need of a proofreader at this site. It seems every time I llok in on the front page, there's some glaring typo. Today's is REALLY cool: --------------------- Chavette, Sci Fi Heroin for Stephanie Chavette is the complete Sci Fi heroin for Stephanie. She comes with 1 head and 5 body textures, a Cowl, Chest Armor and a forearm mounted laser weapon. Dozen's of varaitions are possible with this versatile character. --------------------- So, tell me, folks, how pure is this Sci-fi Heroin y'all are selling? Is it better than China White? Is it the kind that Darth Vader shoots up, or is it some cheap crap that Buck Rogers would mainline?

Legume ( ) posted Fri, 16 August 2002 at 7:16 PM

And what are varaitions?

AgentSmith ( ) posted Fri, 16 August 2002 at 7:22 PM

Quim Abella. Single for your eyes. I am fascinated by the limitless possibilities that it offers the virtual reality, the animation to us of images 3d and all the new technologies, that never do of our present graf most important that d in all history. I hope to contribute to all this from my modest knowledge. --------------- I understand that perhaps you allow the merchants to write their own copy, and that perhaps English is not their primary language, but geez, you could at least help them write copy that's somewhat grammatical. Heck, I didn't even know what the guy was selling! Good advertising makes good sales. ;)

Legume ( ) posted Fri, 16 August 2002 at 7:25 PM

Yes, I keep lloking at the front page, and I kepe finding misteaks.

Legume ( ) posted Fri, 16 August 2002 at 7:27 PM

Well, yes, I figured as much, but still, someone should help them with the copy. It's in the best interest of both the merchant and the site to provide good advertising copy.

DragonWalk ( ) posted Fri, 16 August 2002 at 7:56 PM

With all due respect here...I gotta suggest that Legume has a point...perhaps someone to reword things so at least it makes sense... If you are marketing...advertising...every "word" just as every "picture" counts...both for the vendor and for Renderosity...and of course...the customers. I am one who used to complain about the 75% banners that really suck...it has gotten better but 60% of them still suck...that don't have anything to do with Renderosity at all since they only host them up there...but sometimes I do wonder where the effort and imagination goes when it comes to selling...presuming "selling" is a serious goal... This grammatical credibility issue should warrant a good llok...at least...;-) Please no one take offense to attempted "constructive" criticism...if someone is selling cars and they were all filthy with mud or cobwebs...or the salesman talked with a lisp or a hairlip...or wore his underwear on the outside of his pants...that too may well be a problem for sales... It kills me...people spend so much time on little trivial things yet sometimes simply seem to overlook incredible potentials... Cheers!

Hey Pops....would ya settle for playing with some squirrels....LOL!!! ;-)

crisjon1950 ( ) posted Fri, 16 August 2002 at 9:30 PM

I agree totally with Legume. I've noticed the spelling and grammatical errors here at Renderosity for quite some time. I've even found them in the Poser FAQ. I wrote a moderator about that, and received no response. So I decided to write my own version of the FAQ, complete with tutorials to answer the questions. Come to think of it, that's how I was originally inspired to create my own Poser tutorials. Another story for another time.

I approve all Banner Ads and a lot of the Front Page Articles. I dont proof them in regards to grammer. I check that the images follow the guidelines and that all the links function properly. A lot of our community doesnt speak English as their native language. Might be a good idea for us to lend a hand in this area. I'll be discussing with the rest of the team. Clint

crisjon1950 ( ) posted Sun, 18 August 2002 at 8:42 AM

Oh, so now I know Bizarro's "civilian identity."

Entropic ( ) posted Sun, 18 August 2002 at 10:29 AM

Not sure what you mean there, Ron... I only have one identity. ;)

crisjon1950 ( ) posted Sun, 18 August 2002 at 12:04 PM

If you've followed Superman much at all, you'd be familiar with Bizarro. Bizarro is a "defective version" of Superman, created by some evil experiment. Bizarro talks just like you did. Superman has a civilian identity: Clark Kent. To my knowledge Bizarro never had a civilian identity. Of course, my comic super hero knowledge is essentially 30+ years out of date.

Entropic ( ) posted Sun, 18 August 2002 at 12:19 PM

Ah. Ok. Never read Superman. ;)

crisjon1950 ( ) posted Sun, 18 August 2002 at 3:00 PM

I learned to read by reading comic books, beginning in the mid-1950's. I quit reading comics in 1983 when I bought my first computer.

x2000 ( ) posted Sun, 18 August 2002 at 3:04 PM

x2000 NOT Bizarro. x2000 Hulk. Why must puny humans always hound x2000? x2000 only want to be left alone, but men always shoot at x2000 with little guns, flame x2000 in forums, make fun of x2000's torn up purple pants. Puny humans make x2000 angry! X2000 SMASH! x2000 throws a tank at Legume, smashes his fists on the road causing a chasm to open under Ron, and moons Entropic Now x2000 go to Poser gallery and look at pictures of nekkid ladies.

Slynky ( ) posted Sun, 18 August 2002 at 10:13 PM

anyone remember the bizarro episode of Seinfeld? Fun stuff.
