Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 22 9:27 pm)
This is discouraging... I haven't tried this yet, but thought what you have tried would have worked. Since it doesn't... The next thing to do would be to make a target object that you set up in both programs (scale-converted the same way you intend to for other stuff), set it a known distance from the camera, and start rendering comparison frames at various focal lengths and distances -- use text objects to mark the data into the render, if you like. This is unlikely to produce 100% flawless matches for compositing complex moves, but it will be a start. If you have more free time than me (and that's probable) and are willing to post a Poser/Carrara "Rosetta Stone" of focal length/ distance equivalents, it would no doubt be a great service to all...

In intergrating scenes from Poser, Bryce, and Carrara, I would like to plan camera movements so, for example, I could do a Bryce flyaround, then import it as a moving background to Poser, and make a synchronized flyaround. I've tried using the same camera coordinates, and it doesn;t work. Does anyone have a formula for converting world coordinates, and camera info (focal length, etc...) between Poser, Bryce, and Carrara?
