I hate to be a pain in the bum but have there been any renders of the Poser kiddies or animals posted? thanks, -Des

I have not seen any, I guess we will have to wait till it is shipped to see them. I would like to see both of them. I just hope the animals pose some what better. I just wonder if the P5 kids will have any clothes to wear... and I'm not refering to T-shirts and Jeans.

Debra Ross, who has produces some superb animal models, is credited in the P5 manual as a contributor. Bill

same here. I d/l the manual and looking through it I saw picture of the P4 kid on page 103 (Poser menu bar chapter) with the same P4 dorky hair and clothes. Hopefully this is like a place holder and the P5 kids look better than P4.

I'm just hoping its not the same kids, lol.

Yeah, the P4 siblings are worst kids on the block, nowhere nearly as well behaved as Mike and Vicky's kids.

Okay, let's talk here. You guys ever given Vicky or Mike a hard look when they're straight out of the box? Vicky is one ugly broad and Mike, for all his muscle tone, ain't much better. But after putting in some texture work and maybe a couple of morphs, they start to smarten up and become those fantasy heroes you slobber over so much in the galleries. Granted, there ain't much for the P4kids out there, but I suspect that has more to do with the P4girl's lack of a breast morph than anything else. Nevertheless, these models are just like the P4 adults and the Mil figures: ugly as sin until you start *doing* something with them. I've been working with the P4Guy for almost a year now, using some of Duane Moody's headmorphs, some of my own, and building my own textures, and this image is one of the results. I recently got a head morph for the P4boy, and as soon as time permits, I'm gonna start working on a texture pak to go with it that will be to this standard. If there's enough interest, I'll ask the morphing artist to work on a P4girl head morph as well. But the bottom line is the same: these models can be extraordinary if you really work with them. I don't think people even barely scratched the surface of what the basic models could do in their rush to get the MilFigures. And while DAZ's work is indeed very good, these folk are leaner, meaner, and way more expressive than anyone's really looked into. Yes, the elbows and knees are a problem, and that looks to have been solved in P5, but considering how few folks do animation, where something like that would be almost insurmountable, it's easily corrected with a little postwork. And BION, the animals aren't that bar either. There are some amazing textures and morphs out there for all of the Poser animals, but you have to work with them to get the results you want.

Bravo, VirtualSite. Great looking image. I think the P4 characters have been grossly undervalued in this community.

uhhh who is that ??? that a P4 guy ? and that hair... surely not Poser ?? Really great work. Maybe P4 isn't soooo bad after all. good stuff VirtualSite. thanks for sharing

I'd like to see a realistic dog and cat--especially the cat. And its funny someone mentioned above about the Poser 5 manual. All the examples I've seen look like examples from the Poser 3 and 4 manual. What new characters? Or are they trying to keep us in suspense as long as possible?

The hair is the MikeHair by Lourdes, rescaled for the P4Guy (nothing more than a few dial re-sets) and retextured: the great thing about this particular hair prop is that you can interweave two different shades between the inner and outer levels. The facial texture is my own work; the morph job uses two of Duane Moody's head morphs (but with settings of .25 and -.5, so we're looking at small increments here, folks) and one of my own making, likewise set at a small setting. There's a Russian site with two great handpainted tetxures for the dog -- http://avalontree.narod.ru. And I've seen some wonderful ones for the cat as well; I'll try and dig up where they come from. But again, textures are only part of it -- you still have push and prod the mesh a bit.

Attached Link: Examples of Lyne's dog morphs

The dog has some great morphs and textures by Lyne, some available at 3DModelWorld, some at http://www.planit3d.com, all free. My sister also did some textures for the dog, available at http://www.fignations.com/jelisa/fignations/presets/animals.html I just wish there were some good morphs available for the cat. And more for the P4 kids too ...
