heyas; first, try loading the character into p3. you'll get a warning that says: 'warning, this thing is newer than expected'and poser will try to read it anyway. if you're in luck, it will read in and be fine. then save it to your library as a p3 character, and you're good to go. this should work on most props and original figures. now, if it is a character based on a poser 4 figure, you have a problem, because those only come in p4. however, except for the uvmapping (and some bits in the chest or whatever), the p4 figures are exactly the same as the p3 figures, so you could just hack the cr2 files to point to the p3 figures instead of the p4 ones. you wont have the textures, and some of the morphs might not work, but otherwise, the character will be there. the main things that p3 doesn't do that p4 does are magnets, transparency, and (i think) full body morphs. if you read in a p4 file with those in it, i think p3 just ignores them. in fact, it is possible to convert the daz millenium figures to work in p3. englishbob is the resident p4 to p3 expert. now, as for building new characters, look for the tutorials that use a PHI file, rather than the p4 hierarchy window or pro pack setup room. the p3 phi file method works in p4 and pro pack, so it doesn't matter which version the tutorial is for, as long as it uses the phi.

Could anyone tell me if it is possible to change a poser4 stand alone character into a poser3 character. I have only just started with poser3 and everything I see seems to be for poser4. Has all Poser3 stuff been dumped. I found several Tutorials on building characters but they're all for Poser4......Help.
