Subject: switching object/ambient colors in .mtl files?

I've been messing around with a free app called Plant Studio and exporting the plants in obj format to poser. Strange thing is, Plant Studio writes a .mtl file, which poser uses, but the color in Surface Materials that affects each part is NOT the object color, but the ambient color. I find this pretty annoying, so I tried editing the .mtl file and switching the ka/ks values. No difference. Then I ran the plant through uv mapper and gave it new materials. Still no difference. Anyone got a suggestion as to how I can force it to use the object color? mac

delete the .mtl, import the obj again with no .mtl defined and use posers render materials to pick object colour. or apply the texture map made and painted to it afterwards. I've never used the .mtl files, even though all apps make them.

Heh, Nice try Jaqui, but that doesn't work either. It still roots for the ambient color instead of the object color. No, I never use .mtl files, except with uv mapper pro. What I can't understand is why this dratted plant has to be different to every other 3d object in existence. mac
