I am trying to order Poser 5 upgrade and the CL site does not like my Poser 4 serial number. Sanity check: I am using the number that appears on the About Poser screen when Poser is running. Isn't that the serial number that CL needs? Peej

that should be it. check that number against the one on the sticker that came with the package. i put mine in the owners manual but you may have down something different with it

Well now, there is an interesting gotcha. I dug up my Poser 4 manual and the serial number sticker is NOT the same as the serial number that displays on the About Poser screen. The serial number on the sticker has an extra leading character. The CL site accepted the sticker serial number. Thanks, wrpspeed, for reminding me about the sticker. Peej

there is something wrong with the number that shows when i go to the "about poser" at "help" what i see is not my serial number - most of it is correct but the first letters are not. - same as Peej says

The seral numbers are typically a little different or crossed off in the screen version simply so that people can't write them down and hand them to someone else. I am not sure if this is the case but it is probably soemthing like that. Always best to go with th sticker.

Peej - quoting from e-mail to CL support about precisely the same problem as yours (upgrade purchase, won't accept P4 serial) : "It seems that the site is not accepting some serials for some bizarre reason.
