Subject: Mil Dragon Textures, what's the difference?

What's the difference between the maps in the Millennium Dragon Textures and the maps that come with the Millennium Dragon? Are they just different colors, or do they have different "patterns"? What about the bump maps and trans maps? Are they different than what comes with the dragon?

Aside from colour variation, they're almost identical. And the texture pack's transmap and bumps are the same that come with the Millennium Dragon. If you only have the free LE Dragon, however, they're a great deal.

Thanks, Little Dragon, you've saved me a few $. I can recolor the maps myself. I bought the full Dragon but thought I should ask before buying the texture pack.

I'm working on a massive set of free skins that have a totally different scale pattern. Look for 'em in a week or so.

I neglected to ask in your previous thread on the subject, Lyrra ... can you do a non-scaly skin? Something like elephant or rhino hide?

leathery rather than scaly? sure. slimy is easy too ... cyborg is doable ... too many textures, not enough time. I should just ask DAZ to hire me :) Lyrra

Lyrra...will your skins fit the free dragon? Tring to save money for P5, so I didn't buy the full verson ;(. Hugz

The free LE Dragon and the full version Millennium Dragon have the same UV-mapping, so Lyrra's textures will work just as well on either. They're both the same mesh; the full version just has a ton of morphs and ERC code for easier posing.

Cyborg dragon sounds great! I'd have never thought of that. Mech dragon. OOOOOHHHHHH!!

Lyrra ( ) posted Mon, 09 September 2002 at 10:17 PM

I'd been thinking about mech-ing the old one, but the uvmapping was just too awkward to deal with. This one is mapped beautifully :) Even though the separate maps means I'm making x*14+14+2 files for this set - if x is 30 than that means 436 jpg files(is that right?). I'm handling the texture making in batches - solids, 2-color, patterns, and specialty. The solid colour ones should be done this weekend (I hope) and the bi-color next week sometime, and then the patterned ones by the end of the month. (patterns: zebra, diamondback, etc)
