Subject: Cheap and good human modeler

Benny Goodman ( ) posted Mon, 20 March 2000 at 9:48 AM · edited Sun, 04 August 2024 at 6:36 AM

Hi! I am looking for a good and cheap human modeler for poser4. Will Raydream 3D, the cheap one of $129,- NOT Raydream Studio, do the trick for me? Or are there cheaper ones as an input for Poser4? Thanks in advance, Benny

Forget RayDream3D, you may be able to find Ray Dream Studio 5.5 (which has a vetix modeler in it) for a good price on ebay or close-out for around $199.00. I saw a copy at our local university book store for that. Also call PCMall or one of theme to see if they have any specials.

I agree with willf. Ray Dream Studio is a bout the cheapest product that you can do this with. Clint

If you can buy educational Carrara comes in at under $200. I think I paid around $190 or so.

Is the educational version the full version? Does it come with manuals? I've been checking out Carrara at my friend's house, (I have Ray Dream Studio), and I'm impressed. Too bad they won't let you upgrade from RDS to Carrara. Marque

Carrara educational version is the full version, just cheaper. Also, check out Rhino if you can qualify for the student discount. For pure modeling, it blows Carrara away. Carrara does have other stuff Rhino doesn't have, so the two are complimentary. Jeff

Thanks...it seems that no matter what the program there is always something out there that does something that it doesn't....lol, Marque

You can upgrade to Carrara from Ray Dream Studio for $99. I'm getting mine Tuesday...YES!
