I have noticed people complaining about grainy Vue images, personally I have not experienced this. Here are my thoughts: 1) People are saving as compressed JPGs once Vue has finished rendering, don't do this, save as BMP and then resave again as JPG if you are going to publish on the web. Only use between 5-15% compression or the compression will be noticeable in the picture (i.e, look grainy). 2) Ambient lighting, in the Sun/Light button in VUE there is a slider for Light Balance with a slider between ambinent light and sun-light, get this up to 100% before you do anything, at the very least (if you have a very dark image for example) have it no less than 75%. Why? Very simple, it makes objects 'glow'. The first picture I did in Vue was a simple rendering of a Japanese Temple, a test to see how quick the renderer was. When it was finished, it look really odd and also grainy, I noticed the underside of the temple (sections not in sunlight) were lit up, why? Ambient light, they were lighting themselves. Just try turning the slider to 100% sunlight, I think you'll find it a marked improvement. All my pictures look a LOT better. 3) Don't render the final image in Final, Preview or Sketch, use Broadcase or Ultra. Essentially Final is not the best quality render, but it is acceptable (not for me though). Any comments? Also thanks to everybody for the nice comments about 'A Beautiful Place' picture I put on the gallery, very nice of you all.
