A friend is looking to build a new graphics system, and I seem to recall that there is a site that will build them with rendering and 3d in mind... But I can not remember the NAME... Anyone know what I am trying to think of? Looking for intel, not mac. Thanks, Aeryk71

Hmmm... I just built my PC. Could've used such a thing myself. You say Intel, does that rule out a PC using an AMD chipset? such as the Athlon k7 set? Or do you just mean PC and not MAC? (I went with a 500mhz K7 on the Asus K7M motherboard (with built in sound to save one slot), with 256 pc133 Ram and a Leadtek Wintel DDR GeForce graphics card. I made my choice after a few weeks of comparing review sites from everywhere I could find. Choosing not to trust one single resource.

Truth has no value without backing by unfounded belief.

AMD might be ok. I'll have to check... Thanks for the info! Aeryk

The system that arcady has is sweet. Thats a great setup. I personally would go with the Intel PIII rather than the AMD K7. Each of the chips has its strengths and wesknesses. Im just personally a die hard Intel supporter. I would go with the GeForce card. and 256mb RAM. So basicaly what arcady has but I would have used the PIII. Oh motherboards. ASUS and A-Bit would be the only 2 I would consider. I like the ABits since they are jumperless. ASUS might have a jumperless board by now. I havent looked into the in 3-4 months. ;) But those are both great MB's to go with. Good luck! If you have any problems or questions post away. Clint

I recently built a system too, and went with an AMD Athlon 600. I am using a Microstar motherboard, which is great. Only 128mb RAM here for now, but with prices dropping, will be upping to 256 soon. I went with the Nvidia TNT2 chipset for my graphics card and am very pleased. However, with a little extra funds I probably would have gone with the GeForce chipset as well. Oh, an you gotta have a big hard drive! I went with 27 gig, and will eventually add a second one too one day! This graphics stuff can be very hogging of hard drive space.... HG... P.S. Clint and all, thanks for the advice on my Rapture scene. I am currently tweaking it and should have a revised version by the weekend....
